Enjoy a leisurely bike ride in Rio de Janeiro, from the world-famous beaches of Ipanema and Leblon to the parks and sports complexes surrounding Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon. Your knowledgeable local guide will lead you on easy, paved paths along beautiful beaches and the lagoon, bordered by Rio’s most fashionable neighborhoods. See where the residents of Rio spend their free time, and enjoy amazing views – including Corcovado’s statue of Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer) embracing this spectacular city from above.
Head to Rio de Janeiro’s Ipanema Beach – made famous by the popular bossa nova song “Girl From Ipanema” – where you will meet your friendly local guide and tour group. Then, hop on your bike and follow the wavy tile path that borders the sand toward Two Brothers Mountain (Morro Dois Irmaos).
When you reach Allah’s Garden (Jardim de Alah), a small park situated around a water channel, continue along the canal that separates the beaches of Ipanema and Leblon. Your guide will lead you to Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon (Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas), a large lake surrounded by the most upscale neighborhoods of Rio, including Lagoa, Leblon, Gávea and Jardim Botânico.
Enjoy a leisurely bike ride on the 4.4-mile (7.2-km) circular path around the lagoon, where rowing teams have competed since the end of the 19th century. You’ll pass three parks with sports complexes, stopping along the way to hear from your guide about the rivalry of Rio´s soccer (futebol) clubs – now the most popular sport in Brazil.
Ending your tour admire the gold reflection on the silent waters of Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon. Framed by granite peaks and embraced by the Christ the Redeemer (Cristo Redentor) statue atop Corcovado, the camera-worthy views are breathtaking!

Great way to see the city and get some exercise. The tour is run by 2 local chaps who were relaxed and friendly and made us feel very welcome, and we're more than happy to take photos of the 2 of us...even when cycling! Definitely do this tour!!

Upon arrival and calling to confirm we were told then and only then, not before at any time by email, that the tour provider was unable to fulfill the tour. It would have been extremely helpful to us to have known this in advance. We did rearrange our schedule and did a 9 am bike ride on a different beach and were told by the guide that he would have been the same provider for the 3 pm tour but he had never been contacted to provide that service. Somewhere there is a disconnect with the middleman here
